Ryan Truzzi-Franconi

Support Team Leader

Ryan Truzzi-Franconi was born in 1992 and raised in Chatham, Kent. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong interest in the military, joining the Chatham Marine Cadets before enlisting in the Royal Marines in 2011. A talented musician, Ryan excelled as a clarinettist and saxophonist in the Royal Marines Band Service, performing at prestigious venues including Buckingham Palace and the Royal Albert Hall during massed band events.

During his military career, Ryan undertook numerous notable deployments. He served aboard the RFA Argus during the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone and participated in the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier’s inaugural major deployment, WESTLANT 18, to the United States.

After a medical discharge from the Royal Marines Band Service in 2022, Ryan transitioned to civilian life, teaching aspiring musicians on the saxophone and spending two years working as a HGV driver.

Ryan is one of four siblings, with two brothers also serving in the Armed Forces. Drawing on his own experiences and the support he received from the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity following his medical discharge, he is passionate about fundraising for the organisation. As he embarks on this new expedition, Ryan is eager for both the challenge and adventure it promises, while using the opportunity to give back to a cause that profoundly impacted his life.
